"IEEE Smart Village communities and the Trailblazer Initiative." Presenters: Alexander & Olga Anderson "IEEE Smart Village, the humanitarian outreach program of IEEE and the IEEE Foundation, is inviting volunteers from the Seattle Section to join an initiative to develop and deploy a universal platform for computing, internet connectivity, and energy for off-grid communities. This technology platform will be one of the first demonstrations of the upcoming P2030.10 standard for DC microgrids, and will provide an instantly deployable, portable, modular solution to the needs of remote communities for ICT and energy technology supporting education, health care, capacity building, small business enterprise, and disaster response. Volunteers are eagerly sought who have experience in television white space, 3G/4G signal boosting, satellite communications, reliable computing systems for in-field applications, and community education programs."

Ken started his career in 1993 out of Minneapolis, MN working with servo motors and controls from Rockwell Automation’s Electro-Craft company. He then managed territories in Central and Eastern Canada, out of Toronto, ONT, before relocating to Denver as the Mountain States’ Power Products Area Manager for Rockwell Automation – Allen Bradley’s Drives group. Today he works alongside his regional team members in supporting their customers with system solutions. Jerry Hill has been with TECO Westinghouse for 1 year and is based in the Puget Sound region as Sr. Field Sales Representative supporting all TECO Westinghouse products and services. Prior to joining TECO Westinghouse, Jerry spent 31 years in industrial electrical and rotating equipment service as Account Manager for a number of apparatus repair shops including two different former Westinghouse shops and GE Energy.
