2009 Outstanding Students of the Year Awards
Two Outstanding Student of the Year Awards were presented at the Seattle Section Student Paper Competition on Saturday April 4, 2009.
- Austin Clark of SPU
Austin is recognized as a proactive leader of the Seattle Pacific University IEEE Student Chapter. Austin managed to plan 2009 activities prior to the start of the year and has executed to that plan. Austin sets target and empowers others to execute the plans. Austin has organized successful social events for the students and the faculty of Seattle Pacific University. He was involved in the Smart Shower project at school and also was employed at Cypress Semiconductor in a very successful internship program. Austin expects to graduate June 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Seattle Pacific University. - Ben Sherman of DeVry
Ben has been credited as being the reason for the IEEE Student Chapter’s success at DeVry University. Ben is the heart and soul of the program. He is the current IEEE Chairman, project leader on Battlebots and Micromouse, and organizer of the Flashing LED Hearts fundraiser. Ben is also organizing a Seattle Section wide Micromouse competition within the IEEE Seattle Section universities. Ben expects to graduate in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Electronics Engineering from DeVry University.
